A Break of Market Structure (BMS) happens when price breaks a smaller internal swing in the opposite direction of the current move. This shows that momentum is slowing down and that the market may be preparing for a reversal or a deeper pullback. BMS gives traders an early signal that the current direction is weakening before a full structural change becomes obvious.
Instead of waiting for a major break, BMS helps traders notice the first signs of pressure building on the opposite side. It often appears when price reaches a liquidity area or after a strong push begins to lose strength. This makes it easier to understand when the market is shifting its focus from one side of liquidity to the other.
In the HuntsPip system, BMS works well with Order Block and Liquidity Sweep features. When these elements line up with an BMS, traders get a clearer picture of where a new move may begin and where stronger reactions are likely to happen.
